Don't they already track the package via carrier? I'd say the only thing "more secure" would be a otp from the mailman himself. I've heard that apple usually doesn't handle DNA's in the best way, but that could've changed.

In terms of EB'ing It, It's Impossible for Apple to conclude that the watch was In the box at the time you received It.

You probably will have to fill a PR and it will be a lot of back and forth with the support but i think if you do everything right it will work. Keep us updated!

I did the Hermes EB it took weeks of arguing, had to get them to reopen their closed case two times if I remember correctly and before the replacement I threatened to go to the store and tell all their customers that they send me an empty box and will not replace it! Trust me it was not an easy job and also required a PR be prepared for a fight

Also the Hermes gets shipped direct from china and take a while to arrive

The quality/value of the Item makes no difference.

They'd need to provide conclusive photographic evidence of the Item enclosed In the package at the time It was delivered to your address, which Is simply not possible.

i said strap and face was missing but box still contained second strap charger, manuals etc
