Apple iphone EB #1
I've heard about the loose policy of apple lately for first time buyers in regards to the EB method, supposedly they aren't always cross-checking shipment weights, and EB has been successful for some people lately.

I just received an iphone and im planning to SE via empty box method. I contacted apple support chat which seems a little finicky compared to other companies. They don't seem to be able to offer much help through chat and quickly refer you to phone specialists for anything. They want to schedule a call to discuss what happened. Is a phone call with the support the most likely way to ensure this goes smoothly? And what should I say?

I was thinking to say the package arrived, but when I opened the iphone box, only the charger and manual were in there, no phone. Is this a plausible story? And if they ask me if the box was sealed or otherwise tampered with, I should say it was not tampered with and was sealed, correct? Any input is appreciated here. Thx

Phone communication Is Instant and anything you've said cannot be taken back, so be prepared to answer all questions accordingly.

Upon opening the box, the phone was missing.

Don't go Into anymore detail than you need to.

As said, tell them the phone was not enclosed In the box and take It from there.

Say that you didn't notice at the time of opening the box, but will check and get back to them.

If they decline the claim on a perfectly sealed box, It serves as a backup, thereby you'd then say It was tampered with.

I am interested to try this, please keep us informed.

If the SE is successful, is there any chance Apple may block the phone from using cellular?

Although It's not a commonality with Apple, there's always the possibility of the IMEI being placed In a pool of blacklisted numbers.

What scares me about the amount of control they have over their products that are iPhones macs MacBooks and some sort of computing device. I recall them doing diagnostic which basically can take over your device . I would be weary.

How about their Apple Watches with only GPS (no cellular therfore no SIM/eSIM)?

It's fine.

A blacklist Is for devices that connect to a cellular network.

Can't they mark the SN / IMEI as blacklisted somehow? Since the watch also connects to your phone / internet.

If It contains an IMEI, It obviously can be blacklisted.

In terms of a serial, the device can be locked to the service It connects to, but not the device per se.
