I ask because I'm also interested in this method which I never used and seems frankly quite easy and safe, as long as you can re-seal perfectly.

I‘ve got no experience with that and tbh I wouldn‘t risk it without having any seal film. If you detach it clearly there is also the probability you may have struggle while reattaching it and your refund attempt fails.

Nothing, but to legitimately refund the Item, depends on your reason for the Initial return.

For Instance, If It was a change of mind (after viewing the Item), simply say that you were In a hurry and packed the Incorrect one. Then send back the original for a refund. That's why I keep asking questions - to clarify every step of the SE, thus be prepared for every unexpected event.

Well that sounds good but if I use sealing stripes it wouldn‘t be realistic to tell that I have put the wrong Macbook into the parcel. But it also isn‘t realistic that they open a box which seems to be untouched which is a plus point for me. Soon I might be ready to do it and also other apple products.

Would you recommend Amazon or Apple for this method? Would Apple probably have the chance to trace back to me? (if I get a refund) Over the serial number and used apple account maybe?

Simply say that you carefully opened the box and resealed It without damaging It - just to make sure that there's no Issues with the refund, If a damaged box Is returned.

I can come up with an array of excuses/reasons for the return.

Precisely.

If there's no Inconsistencies with the box, It does not give them reason to check/open the return.

Amazon has a higher success rate.

Once It's sold, who's to say the buyer (who purchased your return) Isn't an SE'er attempting a refund?

You‘re just perfect! Thank you very much.
Could we say that this is one of the highest success rate methods and you may get anything if you may do it so it looks untouched?

Absolutely.

The key to Its success, Is returning a box that's (seemingly) In Its original factory state without any signs of tampering whatsoever. As a result, It doesn't trigger the need to check the return (why check when there's no reason to?), which Is why It has such a high success rate.

RE: Apple MacBook Pro Sealed box #17
I'm going to share a story with you to show you how successful this method really is.
I bought a new lenovo laptop back in July last year and my dog destroyed the charger. I bought another laptop bc lenovo doesnt make said charger. Brought it home and used a hair dryer to soften the tape and slowly lift it up. After it was completely lifted up, I took out the good charger, put in the bad charger. The tape was still sticky so all I did was press down on it, gave it a quick glance over and went back to the store. Clerk looked at the seal on top (the one I undid) and processed my return. I was in and out in 5 minutes. Potent and effective.

That‘s really cool. It would have been much better if you also kept the laptop but yeah that shows how easy it is and also the success rate is with this method and even if you bring the package by yourself to the shop it is still perfect.

It actually Increases Its success, namely If you attend late on a Friday just before close of business when they're Inundated with customers.

As such, they don't have the time or the manpower to thoroughly check returns.
