Okay, so i've gone ahead and done most of these steps. I've got one more problem, which sadly isn't under my hand: They're asking me to turn FindMy off. I cannot do that, as i don't actually own the iCloud or the device. Any way to go past this, or do i just stop the SE?

Tell them you're experiencing Issues turning It off - you've done everything correctly, but It's not allowing to turn the setting off.

They cannot do anything about It, remotely.

Extremely vulnerable to covid? No family or friends to assist. Maybe also throw in you are 4-5 hours away from your nearest apple store and it's not fair to make you travel that far
