Hi guys, I’ve got the serial number for a high end Lenovo Laptop and I’m trying to SE them. I’ve spoken to Lenovo on the phone and have claimed that the laptops battery is leaking. Lenovo have asked me to send it in for repair.
Any tips on what I should do from here... shall I box them? Or should I say that I refuse to ship the laptop due to health and safety with the ‘leaking battery’.
Any tips or advice would be great. UK based btw

Give a try with the leaking battery method first, it won't cost you anything. If they keep asking you to send the item back we can work with that and we will box them.

I’ll give that a go. I assume they will ask for photo evidence. Any advice to dodge that one if they do?

Quick update - Lenovo have provided a returns label. I phone them up and explained I won’t be able to send them it as the battery is leaking and it is a hazard etc.
I was told to wait 24 hrs and someone will email me a special label which will allow UPS to carry the laptop.
Anyone come across this situation before?
Will update when I have more news.

i would explain to them that you have contacted your local UPS and say that due to it being a faulty battery that due to it being classed as Dangerous goods/Hazardous materials (following IATA regulations for Express and Expedited, and following ADR regulations for Standard). They would not ship this anywhere.
see what they say
