So, last night from my family I got $145, a shit load of candy, and my cousin in law got me fucking condoms [emoji23]
They made me pull out everything from that bag, so my face got really red, but I was laughing really hard and couldn't even talk for a few seconds.

Edit: My dad didn't take my money from me this time, and I currently have $25 on me. So, yay.

I certainly hope he doesn't plan to do that in future now you're 18, as I get the feeling he'd be crossing some serious legal boundaries. I am a little shocked he owe's you $1400 and can't even give you the laptop. However, I am not involved and have no right to really hold an opinion. On the bright side, when he does pay you that $1400, you know you've not spent it already and you can put it into savings.

Also, from your earlier post about the condom gift, it reminded me, my friends and I once gave our friend who turned 16 (legal age of consent in my country) a giant card, absolutely full of condoms, right in the middle of a pizza hut. I've never seen anyone so red as the condom packets went all over the table and floor.

I certainly hope he doesn't plan to do that in future now you're 18, as I get the feeling he'd be crossing some serious legal boundaries. I am a little shocked he owe's you $1400 and can't even give you the laptop.

It's not that he can't give it to me, it's that he won't. I tried for 2 hours to get him to just give it to me, he ended up handing it to me, but was like, so if you really want this laptop, I can also print you out a sheet of paper to go along with it as well (meaning, a paper that has bills on it).

Edit: Let me clarify the money thing, he has my cash in his room, he just won't actually let me have it in my room. He says I'm not responsible enough. I've never had the chance to spend money on anything to prove responsibility......

Wait, you asked for you own property now you're a legal adult... and he wants to give you household bills? Or are the bills related to the laptop?
Also... removing money does not teach anyone how to be responsible for money. That makes literally 0 sense. That's also why people usually have allowances. On the other hand, if you earned it, he doesn't have the right to do that (legally) if the money was earned legally. Forgive me if I am overly critical, but I just don't get it.
