I want to SE the low hanging fruit that are airpods, however I will be using amazon singapore and so my concerns are whether there is anything different about singapore that would make it something that I should not attempt.

I'm not going to do DNA because thats not really possible unless the courier leaves the parcel without ringing which is highly unlikely. Deliveries even despite the current covid spike will have the driver ring the bell and hand it to someone. And if nobody answers they will reschedule for another day. This leaves my current option provided they do not leave the parcel to claiming the airpods box was empty which I wonder if is a thing in singapore. If this fails I plan to film a 'unboxing video' to convince support. I would open the amazon package to discover the airpod box is unwrapped and missing the airpods. This would be done by cutting the bottom of the package and taking the airpods out before putting it back in and filming from the untouched top.

Any advice?

Use the EB/missing Item method by saying that upon opening the box, the AirPods were missing.

It has a very high success rate with Amazon.

Not when using the missing Item method.

I just went and ordered them and will do the empty box method. My questions are:

Do they ask you to return the box?
Should I film the fake unboxing anyways as a backup?
And should I activate the product or wait until after a refund confirmation?

Very rarely does Amazon request the box be returned.

You can, but the question Is, why would you do It when there's no reason to?

A refund confirmation takes a few business days to process an account credit.

Activate It after the funds have cleared Into your account.

Alright I feel quite certain about this now, but regarding the activation is it possible that if activated before the refund has gone into my account amazon would take action or if they even care about it that much

I've yet to experience Amazon taking action, but It's always good practice to play It safe by waiting for the funds to clear.

Alright so I received it, turns out it wasn't shipped by the usual courier services and instead by the postal service in which case no ring no knock nothing. Just left on the doorstep for all to see. Same thing happened with my 2k headphones that I bought legit. This made me consider the DNA method but whatever that would probably take longer to illicit a refund and since its Singapore its quite a small world if some angry guy shows up everyday asking why I said I didnt get my delivery, though he probably signed it himself, made the conscious decision not to ring or knock and ran off.

Just went on support chat and was quite friendly to the guy before asking for a refund. Maybe I didn't press hard enough but although he was flexible on many things he insisted I return the empty box. Considering the medium eartips fit best and I don't care for the cable or box since I won't resell these I just let it be. Return is scheduled for tomorrow morning in which case a refund will take 5 days from when the courier picks up the package and when I get my money.

Given that this is really the only thing I wanted for a while since airpods pro 2 are not coming in march and the earphones I do want to SE are all sold by third party sellers, I would call this a success.

It's the perfect Ingredients for the DNA method.

Nevertheless, you've opted for an alternative approach that seems to be heading In the right direction.

Did the rep/agent specifically mention the refund will be processed In the said time frame?
