Amazon police report 04-07-2019, 03:42 PM

So I’ve tried to dna a £200 motherboard from amazon, they investigated and said I need a police report, do I file one?
I don’t want my parents to find out (I’m 16) and I’m not sure how the process will be if I go with the police report

I'd first check if your local police even give out a link. I remember actually filing one to find out that if I don't get a link, it doesn't matter. My police department gave a reference number and a PDF even if filed online so Amazon refused to assist. This was a legitimate case too! Also for that amount, I'd just keep trying reps or take the loss.

You may be able to do it online. Police hardly ever trace this up as there isn't really a case worth while to them as they are never gonna retrieve the parcel nor do they have the time and resources to investigate this thoroughly.
If you could do one online that would make your life easier aswell

A police report Is nothing more than a requirement to move forward with your claim.
In the majority of cases, they do not Intervene with Amazon's Investigation.

I emailed amazon about this and they send me something to fill in, it has a declaration of truth at the bottom of it and it says “I may be liable to prosecution if I have wilfully stated in it anything which I know to be false or do not believe to be true“
Do I fill it in or stay away from it?
