Amazon remain firm with their request, and the claim will not move forward until the PR Is received.

Tracking on UPS clearly shows item was received by someone other than me, shouldn't me stating that to Amzn chat be enough?

Logically speaking, yes, but do remember that you're dealing with reps who need a calculator to add 2+2.

1. I go through with it and file the PR

2. file with UPS claim, reach back out to amzn that UPS claim has been opened and they rule in my favor based on that report?

Im thinking: if I open an investigation with UPS and they see the package was handed to someone else. They may label it as lost/misdelivered ? Then go back to Amazon and tell them UPS investigated and ruled "lost/misdelivered"

And in that case I may not even need a PR?

You can try but given they're asking for a PR, they would've already liaised with the carrier. It'd be pretty hard to overturn their decision to disregard the police report and deem a lost shipment.

And the lady said "to process a refund we need a PR to move forward"

No mention of replacement. Anyways ill keep updating
