Amazon investigation confirmation #1
Hi all,

This is the first time i've received such an email from amazon. Is this just a scare tactic, and any ideas on how I should proceed?:

They're requesting you to sign a document similar to that of a statutory declaration, which Is legally binding.

If anything to the contrary of what you've stated Is Identified by Amazon, further action may proceed.
I suggest to leave It be.

That doesn't matter, go onto live chat and tell them you haven't received it bla bla bla, and if they don't transfer you to another agent you'll usually get the refund/replacement.

Persistence is key Smile

As in tell them I haven't received the item, or the email they sent? I spoke to them on live chat again today, and the rep said that they need the affidavit form filled out before they can proceed :/

In this case, you can't.

Once the affidavit has been generated and requested against the account holder, It serves as a point of reference to all other representatives and until It's fulfilled, It will not proceed any further.

It's the same when you receive a court order (subpoena), It remains as such no matter what channels you go through to try and avoid It.

Does this mean that the account is essentially blacklisted? Not sure why they went straight for the affidavit as the account is about 2 months old and has 10+ orders on it.

It's not my place to suggest how their Internal department operates.

It Is however, part of company protocol to Issue an affidavit based on the discrepancy of events.
