Amazon iPhone se #1
So I was gonna SE this iPhone but I fucked up, I ordered it with cricket service and already put the SIM card in the phone and activated it so I can’t use the the DNA method. Is there any other ways? Could I say it is broke and ask for a refund then put my old phone in the box they want refunded?

How could Amazon know wether you activated the Iphone or not? Im not familiar with the cricket service if you could maybe add detail explaining what it is it would help me understand your situation better. Amazon cant know wether you put a sim in the iphone or not and even if, the one who activated it could also be a stranger you dont know, hence you can say that it didnt arrive at your address. As long as the delivery date isnt too long ago it should still work.

Amazon can't, Apple can when you turn on your phone you give up your anonymity they can simply check the specific code the phone has (they all have a different one) and then get information on it aka if you have used it or not if they find u are using it while u claim it hasnt arrived or doesnt work they while deny services of that phone.
Hope this gave some insight o7

If you purchased it through Amazon, there's a very good chance you can still DNA it. Amazon doesn't usually contact Apple in a investigation even if they say they do; it's just a way of scaring you. As long as your order history is good and there's nothing suspicous they shouldn't have a reason for contacting Apple except the whole "oh we've refunded you and we're contacting Apple to blacklist that phone because it may be stolen" which I've never seen them actually do it. I think your good but do what you want OP, I don't know anything about replacing the phone.

Don't mention that It's not working- this will give them reason to check the return.

You can use the "sealed box method", which has a very good chance of success, but there must be no signs of tampering whatsoever. As such, they'll place It back Into stock and Issue a refund thereafter.

Alternatively, you can box them.

I bought it on amazon but apple was the seller. I opened the box pretty carefully. So if I manage to reseal it and put something else with the same weight and just return it, would that work?

Check your SN on Amazon. When I was doing my last Apple product the SN did not match with the actual product I had. Further another member reported similar experience on this forum.
