As the title says, I tried EB a pair of headphones worth £300. They immediately asked me to file a police report which I did, and got the reply from the police the next day. Now Amazon keeps trying to contact the police department but they are refusing to give out any information regarding the case. Amazon also told me to wait until the 31st of August and contact them again for "further options".

Should I just give up and return the headphones or should I wait for the 31st of August and hope they refund me?

Edit: Kept contacting amazon support, they kept on saying there was nothing they could do without validating the police report. Kept telling me to wait until the 31st of August and contact them then.

Today I tired again. A new option on the chat bot appeared saying "Item missing" or something like that. I pressed that option and was put through an associate that told me they would send an incident report to my email and that I just had to fill that out and send it back. Such stupid questions on that report btw, info that they already had such as order number, tracking info etc. I then contacted amazon again through the app and surprisingly they just issued the refund, no other questions asked. No PR check, no nothing.

Be Adamant, insist everyday, contact them daily, things should move a bit faster in that case, and ask for an escalation

This is normal for amazon these days, nothing you can do. You'll be waiting 40 days or more from PR file.

Keep pushing man, I’ve been in same situation with higher value of the item and same method , after 2.5 days they’ve processed refund , I gave them so much headache then eventually they gave up. Just be confident
