Amazon WIR fail #1
Hi, I recently tried the WIR method on Amazon, which I thought through quite well and the difference in weight of both products was only 10g. The item I was trying to get was an iPhone. Anyway, after sending back the wrong item, their representatives claim that I sent back the wrong product and not the one I received (they still insist that according to their information I received the correct item and they do not want to change their mind). They claim that the decision is final and will not give me a refund.

The question is whether in such a situation it is worth submitting CB to the provider of my card and are the chances of winning it high? What should such an application contain for me to be successful?

"The shipment contained the correct item when it left our fulfillment center. We will not do a refund in this case." blah blah blah

I have tried to appeal and escalate this matter but they keep sending the same similar copy paste messages. I read here on the forum that someone already mentioned the same problem when they sent the wrong item back. Amazon first forces you to send back the wrong item, and when you do, they write to you that you sent back the wrong item and they are unable to give you a refund. They simply claim that the originally ordered item was in the shipment from the beginning.

many things could be happening.
- they could have evidence of the item being packaged with cctv cameras
- they could have linked your two accounts
- maybe your account is not strong enough

To answer your question, yes a chargeback will work.

You can file 3-10 chargebacks per year safely depending on how active your bank account is, so make it worth it. Since its an expensive iPhone its definitely worth using a chargeback.

Go for it!

There's rumours that amazon closes accounts after chargebacks. This isn't true for the most part. They will only close your account if you're linked to another closed account or if its the first order on the account.

exact weight matching doesn't matter. This just isn't a 100% success method.

You also have to inform them about your issue before the actual return. BTW WIR won't work if your accounts been OFM flagged, you will receive a email from buyers return saying they received wrong item.

Email jeff @ amazon com

Also as mentioned above, did you contact Amazon first? And when you generate a return label, what reason did you choose? You're supposed to write in the text box about briefly what happened.

Once again a chargeback will work.

From what I have read on the forum, no one has ever encountered the fact that they provided evidence from CCTV cameras and it is generally assumed that Amazon does not have them in its warehouses.
It is true that I had two accounts and one of them once received a OFM warning, but both were created with different data and payment methods. Since then, it's been a year since I only made legit purchases and was aging my accounts. The account from which I placed the order is several years old and has several legitimate orders on it so it should be strong enough in my opinion.

it was a power bank, shipped and sold directly by Amazon, of course.

And what are the chances that they can take the money back from my account after the whole procedure? this is what I'm most curious about.

Yes, I informed them about WIR before returning it. It is true that one of my accounts once received a warning from OFM, so you may be right.

Yes, I informed them about this matter before and they agreed that I can send back WIR. When I was generating the label I chose the reason "Wrong item was sent". I wrote in the text box the specific name of the item I received instead of the one that was originally ordered.

Was this your first SE on this account? How old is the account, how many legit orders you have? Did you return wrong items before? There are so many things to consider.
Everything I post on this forum is only in my imagination. It did not actually happen, it is just for imaginary purposes.
