Amazon (UK) airpods affidavit #1
So a mate of mine ordered some airpods but he used his old address, he contacted Amazon and got it redirected to his current address. Once he received the airpods he went with DNA as the package was post though the letter box and when he contacted support they asked to sign an affidavit.

I've looked up some threads here and I understand you shouldn't sign it but inside the email he received it says "Declaration of truth"

If anyone here have some knowledge on the matter and if it's safe to sign I'd greatly appreciate it!

I’ve heard some people send a corrupt pdf file. Maybe that could work?

An affidavit Is legally binding, so I strongly suggest not to sign It.

If corrupted files are sent and given the nature of the request, they'll keep asking until they either get what they're after, or drop the claim.

It's their standard procedure, after u sign it you get your refund. You have to make the call, I know what I would do.
A friend is nothing but a known enemy.

This exact same thing happened to me a few days ago with air pods as well they told me to sign it. A day later I live chatted them saying I signed it and sent it back to the email however I didn’t sign anything nor send anything to there email, they refunded me.

I'd advise against signing a legally binding document that Is bound by law.

It's good to read It worked out for your friend.

I'm not suggesting action will be taken with every signed affidavit, but In the event they wish to pursue the matter, they'll have a solid foundation to work with.
