Amazon UK - SE an Ipad help #1
So im looking to SE an Ipad off of amazon. I'm not too worried which model it is(mini, pro) just looking for a good method.

Amazon are insisting on signed delivery or OTP so DNA is out of the question. Is it possible to do this as an empty box?
I was thinking of ordering a few other small value items all with the same delivery date in the hopes they send it all in one box and i can the ipad wasnt in the box?
Or am i best just ordering the ipad and saying i got the package but the physical ipad itself wasnt inside?

What's the precise weight of the IPad?

I've been looking at this one

https://www.amazon.co.uk/2021-Apple-iPad...r=8-3&th=1

Not sure how to find the total package weight but the ipad itself is 293 grams

The Item Itself, Is too heavy for the missing Item/partial method.

You can Instead use the wrong Item received or the sealed box method.

Which would you recommend? I've no experience with either but from what i gather the sealed box method requires a little bit of expertise? have you any idea how difficult it is to do it with an ipad box?

I think wrong item would have less chance of me screwing it up. My dad lives in the next city over. Different surname. No link according to amazon. So i would order the similary weighted item off his amazon. Receive it first then swap it out when my ipad arrives?

Thanks for the response Smile

Yes, the sealed box method requires fine attention to detail, but It's not to say It can't be done.

I haven't personally tried the IPad, but I do know that It's wrapped In clear film with a plastic strip on one side that you'd peel to take out the box.

That's the correct approach with the Amazon account.

In terms of the wrong Item, try and order It as close as possible to the purchase date of the IPad.

Sealed box - wouldn't know where to start with getting it out of clear film and plastic strip without it being obvious i was it.

So my "wrong item"
Do you mind explaining why the date ordered matters? Is it so they were picked same day?
do i also need similar dimensions for my wrong item? like roughly the same shape
it has to be the same weight? Have you any good ideas for a replacement? All i can think that fits might be a book of some sort but i wouldnt even know how to check the weight of it before buying.
Should i try and find out the total weight of the ipad including the box and all the bits and pieces and match the weight to that?

In terms of the same date, they'd be under the Impression that the wrong Item was In fact Incorrectly dispatched - for the reason that It matches the original Item's order date.

The size doesn't matter, only a matching weight of both Items. Regarding the wrong Item Itself, as an SE'er yourself, It's your job to research and locate one.

Thanks so much for the reply i do appreciate it. Not having to match dimensions really opens up the possibilities. So rather than go by the actual ipad weight i should maybe look up total box weight online? then find the closest match. Order them at the same time and then tell them i only received the wrong item.

Just one last question. Should i just file an automatic return or am i better involving chat?

You're welcome.

Correct.

You're claiming the entire contents (box & Item) was not received, so that's the weight that should be calculated with the wrong Item.

Spot on.

Tell them you received another Item to what was originally ordered.

Either way, you'll be asked to return the wrong Item, so It's your choice.
