Perfect DNA material.

Absolutely.

Both packages were shipped on the same consignment and arrived at the exact same timeslot, hence you're essentially hitting a single DNA.

Update: spoke to amazon. First representative said the following and just rudely hung up on me:

Based on our investigations, we aren't able to provide a replacement or refund for this order at this time.

You may wish to contact your local police authorities to pursue this matter further. If the issue isn't resolved after contacting local law enforcement and the carrier, please contact us back during the business hours of the related police department with the police report number, link, or URL to the police report that shows the following information:

* - The delivery address regarding this incident.
* - The items were delivered according to the carrier tracking.
* - The report was created for stolen items/theft/larceny/ or other similar crime.
* - The status of the report is completed or closed.
* - The date the report was created.

Please contact us back when the police report is complete. We are unable to accept police reports that are in “pending” or any other incomplete status. The police report must be filed and provided in English to be considered for review. Only one police report is needed for all orders that are part of the same shipment. A separate police report is needed for orders delivered in different shipments. Please note: to assist in obtaining a police report, we recommend that you provide a copy of this email to the police to help explain what has happened. We will happily cooperate with the police as part of any investigation.

Afterwards, I spoke to another representative who said they forwarded the issue to their concern team and will get back to me within 24 hours.

Should I wait for the concern team to respond or should I just file a police report?

Thanks!

A typical reply from Amazon, of which the representative copied & pasted It.

There's a 4 hour gap from when you asked for my assistance, to the time of this (your) post. Did Amazon seriously perform an external Investigation by collecting GPS/tracking Information, cross-checking the carrier's manifest and consignment, and assess every event/Incident to conclude their findings - all finalized In 4 hours?

Enough said.

Depending on their assessment, you may not need to file a PR, so wait for their reply.

Wish you the best, for my experience, when amazon want police-report once, they keep this way and never change it.
But maybe you have luck and the forwarded email hits the correct person, that will help you.

You're not wrong there.

Regardless of whether It's relevant or not, Amazon tend to remain adamant with their request.

Received an email from amazon this morning. For some reason it was in French so I have translated it below:

I'm sorry to hear that you still haven't received your order #..., even though tracking shows it was delivered.

According to the tracking, our carrier noted that your package was delivered on June 21, 2022.

Packages are sometimes left with neighbours, a building manager, or your courier and receiving department if they are being shipped to a business. Be sure to check areas such as the porch, garage, or even behind bushes. Please check the surrounding area, as well as anyone who may have received the package on your behalf, unless you have any health or safety concerns about it.

If you have not received your package by June 23, 2022 at 5:00 p.m., please contact us again; we can then study this delivery in detail.

If your order arrives in the meantime, you do not need to contact us.

I guess I'll wait until tomorrow and re-contact them. Hopefully I won't even need to file a PR. Will keep everyone updated!

They have no clue of the whereabouts of the package, hence they're asking to check with the neighbours etc - which Is In favor of your claim for nonreceipt of goods.

We shall await updates.

I've filed a PR so now we wait. Just wondering, I've read that the police reports in my area notoriously take very long to be processed. I am concerned what to do if the PR takes more than 30 days such that I am past my normal return period for amazon. If the SE for some reason fails is there anyway to still get my money back (either SE or legit refund)? Thank you for your advice regarding this.

It's no fault of your own It's taking so long.

Amazon should exclude the Investigation's waiting period for the return time frame. If not, request It. I've done It before without Issues.

Thank you for your help. How would you do that with an item that you were trying to DNA since you technically did not receive the item? Won't it be suspicious if the item was "DNA'd" for 30+ days and then all of the sudden its found and you're trying to return it after the SE failed? Thanks!
