Good to see that you have managed to pull this SE. Bear in mind that giving extra information to the agent is not always the best practice. Often it is better to give them simple explanation and proceed with information you have been requested to give.

Anyway, in my opinion, the best method with smartphones is the sealed box method. What do you suggest to substitute the item? Perhaps old charging cables for smartphones or what else?

An old smartphone? It can work if you are upgrading from an older model to a newer one of the same brand and category. Say you upgrade from iPhone X to iPhone 11 pro. The phone will easily fit in the box and weight difference is negligible (12 grams or something similar).
I am sure there are similar possibilities with other brands as well.

Why should I substitute my (hypothetical) iPhone X with an iPhone 11 Pro, when I can easily sell an iPhone earning some additional money?

Every SE Is taken on a case-by case basis, so your responses will be based on their replies.

Given the method worked In this case, It suggests that It will do the same with future SEs.

If it is broken and is worth near nothing as parts then it could work. Also you can put in an old model that again is not worth much.

I think that sometimes you need to give something in order to receive something. Think of it as an investment,
