Amazon Japan refund from the US? 07-31-2021, 03:22 AM

So there's a particular collectible I want- a model kit. The kit itself isn't technically valuable like, say, a GPU or other such typically scammed technology. However, the kit itself was incredibly popular so scalpers bought up the stock everywhere immediately and there won't be reprints for many months, forcing me to deal with scalper prices, which I refuse to do. So is getting a refund for empty box/wrong item/etc from Amazon Japan (as someone in the Us) if I buy one of these kits the same as when I do it with US Amazon? I've been able to find basically no info on folks trying to scam Amazon Japan except, just normal people doing normal returns and Amazon Japan evidently ALWAYS wanting them to mail the item back.

Package just got here (After only 2 days. Boy, DHL is fast). It was dropped off while I was sleeping, so I didn't need to sign for it or anything. I'll go through the process of DNA in a little bit here and let y'all know how it goes.

Update: did DNA and worked immediately. Oddly enough Amazon JP's site didn't direct me to the live help customer service thing, just asked me to send them an email. So popped them an email with the typical "DHL says it delivered the package two days ago, but I've checked the premises and nearby mailhouse repeatedly and there's no sign of it" thing. All they asked me was if I used DHL's "On Demand" service (I have no idea what that is), and after I told them no they immediately issued a refund. So that was a neat $160 freebie. Feels like Amazon Japan is a lot less confrontational than US Amazon is. Though, I guess that's somewhat of a cultural norm for Japan.
