What's the precise weight?

Was It Amazon?

If so, I'm also surprised they didn't cross-check the manifest with the carrier who serviced your delivery.

Ye it was Amazon.. honestly hand of god.. 99% of the time they do checks but the rep i connected to apologized and offered a refund straight away... the GPU itself probably weights about 1kg.

I certainly agree that Amazon (for the most part) checks claims that contain some form of Inconsistency. Of course, that's excluding their chat bot.

You were pretty fortunate to have dealt with a rep who didn't seem to care about looking further Into the claim.

It's way too heavy for the method you have In mind:

In fact, last time the GPU packaging had a tear of about 5 inches so I took a picture and said it was empty.. you think the same would work? Or the what's the best method? DNA? One-time password required though.

Was It actually a legit claim?

It depends on the above scenario.

If It was genuinely missing In transit, then the weight would not have registered on consignment, therefore the claim was approved. On the other hand, If you SE'd It, they wouldn't have opened an Investigation, thereby did not cross-check the weight with the carrier who serviced your delivery.

Although an OTP can be circumvented, It does require a fair bit of manipulation to succeed.

Alternatively, you can opt for the wrong Item received method - of which an OTP has no Impact on It.

No, it wasn't legit,, i SE'd it and got lucky i guess.

If I opt for wrong item received, what could I say I received instead? and surely they would ask to send the wrong item back also?

Thanks for your replies.

Purchase a stock Item of theirs that's extremely cheap (preferably from the same category) on a different account.

When they request the return, send that. They'll see It's part of their Inventory and assume they did In fact dispatch an Incorrect Item.
