Amazon GPU swap? 07-19-2022, 04:42 AM
#1
I recently SE'd a brand new 3070ti from Amazon, it was an MSI model.
I've heard Amazon is starting to check returns more thoroughly, but I was wondering if it would be a decent success rate to buy a 3080ti from MSI on Amazon, and swap the GPUs and return it. They look absolutely identical so I don't see how they would even be able to tell without plugging the card into a system and checking its specs, which I highly doubt they'd do for a simple return.
I realize the performance difference between the 3070ti and 3080ti isn't a ton, but that's not the point of the post. Would this be feasible?
Thoughts?

Are they exactly the same size and weight…from experience they are different albeit only a little different. Which actual model MSI card is it? Ventus Gaming Trio or Suprim?
The dimensions are exactly the same as per Amazon's item details. The listed weights are 2lbs different which I feel is a mistake. The cards look the exact same and have the same dimensions.
It is the ventus gaming trio series.

I recently sealed boxed Amazon if that's what you're attempting to do but with a headset, along as you make the box look like it hasn't been tampered with at all and the weight matched up pretty much perfectly it should work. I got the refund
