Amazon EB Fail

I've just tried to use the Empty box method for 400£ cpu

Aged account with orders

I told them CPU box didnt have the CPU, I told them the box wasnt damaged at all

I provided an OTP

They responded saying i need to file a police report as it was delivered to the correct address with an OTP, I insisted that it made no sense since the box was sealed etc, I called and used live chat and they said the same thing

How should I proceed?

and is there any risk with providing a police report

It's a not a fail. It's normal that you got a Police Report for a CPU that is worth 400 £. I'm not even talking that you provided OTP which makes refunds difficult and you can already guess that the PR will be needed. You have to fill out a PR if you want to continue but I can't help you with that and I know that in UK is not that easy to do for it to work for Amazon. Spamming them threw live chat or calling will not work, they will suggest you the same thing as there is no walk around it.

Okay thanks, I've filed PR i guess ill just see where it goes. Was planning to DNA if they only asked for signature, but the driver said he needed OTP so thought i'd try EB. Do you know how long a PR takes to get back usually?

You should have received a 'case reference number ' (I believe it's called that) as soon as the PR was filled. You'll have to send that across to Amazon. They will then contact the police station at which the PR was filed and confirm that the details provided by you are valid - by details I mean the case reference.

This is what the police sent me:

“Thank you for using our online reporting tool. We have received your report about your parcels and have reviewed it. This is not something that the Police would deal with it is an issue with your company and therefore civil. You need to go back to your company and sort it out with them. I apologise we can’t do anything further for you, take care, thank you”

Guessing I can’t do much now

You've complied with their request for a PR and given the police cannot provide It, It's out of your hands, hence the claim must proceed without It.

Simply say a family member took the Item In your absence and told you about It after the claim was filed.
