Amazon CPU Refund 09-03-2018, 09:44 PM
#1
Im planning on buying an Intel Core i7 8700k from amazon then once it arrives replacing the CPU in the box with an older i7 like i7 2700k then returning it back and get a refund. I heard people doing this and wanted to make sure if it works. Any thoughts or tips? Also when choosing the return reason, what reason should I give?

You should tell them that the CPU doesn't work, you have tried that on another Mobo and it doesn't work.

You'll get a refund, I've known amazon workers who don't even open the returned box, they just prepare it for listing on their Warehouse deals site. You should be fine if using a drop or even slightly fake details!
