Amazon Business Account SE #1
Hello again,

I ordered a motherboard (package weight 6 pounds), it was shipped via USPS and delivered today. I requested a return saying it was DOA, and got a UPS Store dropoff QR code. I asked for a label, apparently they can't provide that for business accounts, you have to take it to amazon hub, kohls, or ups store? I'd like to know my best bet at getting this thing returned for a refund, but keeping it.

They advised me I'd be refunded after the first scan with UPS, which I don't necessarily believe from my previous luck with them, but I'm curious what method to use. Will amazon always be fooled by boxing?

I extracted the tracking from the qr code, created a label and will drop it off at a drop box tomorrow.

Will you be returning an empty box/package?

I don't think that would work in my favor lol. I'm going to try the dry ice method I think. Should hopefully work right? Should I send the motherboard box back and make it seem like it was opened and removed from the box?

I know.

I just wanted to clarify your approach and If you said you're only returning the empty box, I would've corrected you.

Yes, that's how the boxing method works - to make It seem as though It was tampered with, and the Item was stolen In transit. The weight of the MOBO Is significant, so you'd need to accurately calculate the dry Ice sublimation time.

What if the item is issued given to a driver as a pickup? They can't weigh the package, only thing is if they pay attention and notice the weight is significantly lighter then the 7.5 pounds the label says it is. Couldn't it be claimed that it was stolen after the pickup? But I guess it makes it more believable that it was heavy when dropped off, then not after a day or so.

And back to the dry ice method, I'm reading that 5 pounds takes roughly 24 hours to sublimate. But then another saying 1 pound could take 24 hours alone. Obviously it depends on the climate, but if it's in a sealed box, in around a 69 degree storage setting, how long could that take? Would hate to have this thing returned in 2 days then they open it and bam, hunk of dry ice.

Just an update, after first scan, refunded as Amazon said. I had ordered ram and processor with this, and double dipped those items. Surprisingly Amazon gave me the option of ordering a 3rd time replacement. I was quite tempted to do so, but decided to just box them. We'll see how quickly my account gets deactivated and if I get refunded.

I received the dreaded email from Amazon stating my account was closed due to misuse. But they stated because I haven't returned anything yet. I returned every item I've ordered so far and requested to return.

They closed my business account, but my main account is still active. I'm sure it's next.

Any tips on how to regroup and rebuild? I will be living at a different house starting next week.
