Now you're aware of what to do the next time around with SEs of similar circumstances.

do you think the same would be possible with new amazon accounts? I started to prep this account over the course of 3 months placing a few orders then went for the big one

No problem, did you tell them that the Amazon box was empty or the macbook box ? Also have you used the device yet and have the police followed up with you ?

hey -
amazon - told them the MacBook box was empty
yep I've used the MacBook, needed to so I could do SE on different sites lol
police - had one convo with them, said it happens a lot and they don't actually ever investigate (I am under the impression I could have done this using fake details to match amazon account as I reality I was reporting a crime and not handing any personal details that would be identifiable - eg. a homeless person would be able to do it because the police just asked for a location that "the crime" occurred more for formalities. I will call them later to get this report stricken off and say it has been dealt with id like to remove if possible)

Very nice indeed, no need to return empty box or anything ? Yeah it always seemed that the process around filing a police report was quite flimsy, great idea about calling them back and saying that the item was found. Never thought about that before. Good work !

No, no need for sending it, I think the asking for escalation over live chat was the driving force behind the refund, soon as they saw report they processed it.
are you doing orders in the uk?

just had a read, was the Amazon FR delivered to a uk address? and I believe in simple they're saying, you've got away with this but don't try it again, indicating that they do share records across regions, id suggest making a new account and starting to place legit orders again then go for a se - would recommend changing the names on the account too.
also with you being in the uk are there any sites you have SE'd apart from amazon
to add to that - the person you paid to refund could have done anything, even a PR without you needing to give much info, it is quite easy and not all info has to be correct

Yes .fr delivered to a UK address, took about 2 weeks though if i remember correctly. The thing about creating a new Amazon account is they will instantly link the accounts based on payment info. Also, no only done Ama so far.
