Abusing money off coupons 04-29-2022, 09:41 PM
#1
I complained to a company the other day that I was not satisified with a product of theirs. They sent me some vouchers in the post so I could go and buy the product for free again.
I just popped to the shops and used the coupon and realised that I can use 1 coupon several times at self checkout without any problems. I was just wondering how traceable this is and what are the implications of doing such a thing?
The voucher popped up as a "Supplier Code" on self checkout and on the T&C's on the back it says it is limited to their own products, I have not tested if it can be used on anything else yet.
I am but a simple gnome who likes free things, none of this is real. It is all simply fiction.

Is it just a barcode? What if you made copies and used it regular checkout?
How did you get the vouchers? Is it those if your not satisfied with the product contact us bullshit on a lot of packaging?
I gotta try that
It seems to be just a barcode, nothing special about it, the barcode is the same on every voucher I received, I got the vouchers for complaining yeah, I bought some crisps (chips if you are american) and the whole container of crisps (chips) were completely crushed so I complained as I was a bit annoyed about it.

So is it just subtracting a certain dollar amount from the total?
Yes. It’s just taking a set amount of the transaction amount. On the T&Cs of the voucher it says it’s only valid on their products but I plan to try it tomorrow on something else to see if that is true
