Yeah, but they said that wasn't the item they sent. How should i proceed? Keep on at them for a while and if i get no joy then contact CC provider?

If what I mentioned above Is the case, then they cannot keep an Item that's rightfully yours.
Based on all that, hit a PayPal dispute/claim or a chargeback via your credit card provider.

That's correct, they still have the 'wrong' item i sent back. With that in mind, is there another approach i can take with Amazon to get this resolved? I only do a chargeback if i have exhausted every possible avenue to get this resolved with the merchant directly.

Did you actually send back a "wrong Item" to what was originally purchased?
If so and given they're not sending It back, It belongs to them, so your claim should be approved based on the "wrong Item" In their possession.

Yeah i sent back the wrong item. They're not replying at this stage. Sent them a receipt and they're not budging.

Under the circumstances, a chargeback will certainly be In your favor.
