They're getting raped with claims, so I think It's just a matter of time before they Implement harsher measures.

Yeah it’s deff best to back off of Amazon for the time being it seems. Still no update

Just to clarify things, what was your last point of contact with them?

I'm about to order a gaming pc too from Amazon.

One question though: Does whether or not the pc is marked "prime" or "delivery by Amazon" or nothing at all matter? Any thoughts?

It should be sold and fulfilled by amazon. But even with my case I had to file a police report and ultimately returned it because of the hassle and I bought parts from separate sites. How much is the pc you want?

The driver that delivers to my  building is always leaving the packages in the mail section on the first floor so I’m thinking I can get away with dna, but has anyone had luck with a price tag that hefty? I feel that may be hard because of the price tag. My account has only one refund for 2020 and over 20 legit orders since then. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

when you go above the 400$ mark from my experience they tend to have to sign off from higher ups to refund, i have had lesser orders refunded quick but the one where i went above 400 took atleast a month and several calls, police reports etc. before i got it refunded, so you have to brace urself with patience and be adament to suceed, dont expect it to just be "ok we refund np". Also keep in mind when you do the DNA, you're actually SE'ing the shipping the company rather than the actual shop, considering they usually have insurance sending pricy packages, so also expect the guy delivering possibly knocking on ur door.

Very valid points.

In support of the above, I can almost guarantee that an Investigation will be opened, followed by a lengthy claims process.

Lol why didn't you just get that police report then. You were so close and decided to chicken out haha. Also, WHY is it important that the pc is "sold and fulfilled" by amazon?

I am going to order one around the same cost of yours; perhaps slightly more expensive.

Did they really ask you to give them multiple police reports for one expensive item? Sounds like you are exaggerating ...

Honestly, I don't get why you make it out to be so complicated. Just do as they tell you to (answer some questions, give them a police report), and you'll get your refund. What's the biggy lol

Also, "the delivery guy knocking on my dorr" => just don't open the damn door. (understandable given covid-19)

Yea it "should" be as you are saying, and no i am deffinitely not exaggerating, and i never made it out to be complicated, just making an effort to point out that you have to very persistent in some cases, and depending on what country you are living in the so called "police report" may be deemed invalid by the representative @ the company if it doesnt contain the details they want to continue with the claim, then you might be tempted to go back to the police and ask for such "report" that they would accept but get met by another "standard" procedure. The falacy you are making is that this might be a "no biggy" to you, but it might just be a "biggy" to the OP, so i want to provide as much content as possible for the OP to decide for him/herself, i can mainly provide my own personal experience and while i mostly enjoyed succesfull se's i do also have some failed ones and other SE's where i got involved too much and wished i never started it to begin with, as you point out yourself there is plenty of excuses in theese times to avoid opening up the door, but for some individuals the idea of people knocking on their door might come as a suprise to them, i really dont get why you even bothered replying to my comment, you provided 0 value but rather suggested that my personal experience was exaggerated.

By saying "Did they really ask you to give them multiple police reports for one expensive item? Sounds like you are exaggerating ...", I was simply asking you to clarify in a very indirect manner.
More specifically, I was asking you whether you were exaggerating or not, because it sounded that way to me, but you didn't state so explicitly; hence why I asked.

Anyways, regarding what you said in regard to police reports. I find it hard to believe that Amazon asks for a police report, only to tell you that it is invalid when you then hand what they asked for to them -- just me? Perhaps it is true. I have never experienced that before. To be frank, I have never gotten a police report for a SE before, so you might be right. BUT, I also know a lot of people on the internet -- especially these kinds of forums -- claim they have done a lot of things they haven't; and know a lot of shit when they in reality don't. Not knowing you very well, my first impression was that you were one of "those".

Would you mind clarifying your experience/share your knowledge in regard to the police reports?

E.g. for what reason would Amazon invalidate the police report they asked of you?

So this specific incidence i went and got a police report that was situated in my native language, and therefore dismissed as a proper police report by amazon, this is what happend when i showed up to file the report at the police station, where i would only get a receipt for the report.

So this is the specific points amazon want you to provide

- Name/Rank of the officer
- Name of police station
- Phone Number of police station
- Crime Reference Number

But even if you provide this, they likely want there to also be a stamp as mentioned above just to "validate" the document legitimacy.. Truth is amazon is doing JACK SHIT with the report, its only a matter of "trust".
They will continously state "We cant assist you further unless you provide the details, yada yada yada." which is a blatant lie, and this is why you must be adament and persistent as fuck if they decide to draw it out, going that extra mile, calling and mailing them everyday.
But this is why you should also take into question is my time doing such negative shit worth the money, because if you end up wasting mulitiple hours "acting" frustrated you will gradually decrease your life quality in the process, so if its a matter of 100$ i'd say its not worth it, but 2000$? maybe. Thats up to you,
my point is being that you should take this into consideration when you start an SE, how far are you willing to take it and plan accordingly.

So i went to several police stations, called them, emailed them, got a person on the job and their reference number, direct phone number, email etc. so they had every way of contacting the police to verify its legitimacy, which they wouldn't bother to do,
and i even got the police to make an additional report in english.
and then they will cut you off with this

But with experience you'll know what to do in order to make the SE succeed in the end theres a plethora of ways to make it happen.
And i do recognize the average keyboard warrior on various forums typing up stuff, but i honestly wouldnt be bothered sharing stuff in here just for the kicks, i came to this forum to share experiences and make profit.
