I have not done this method with the leaking battery but I have heard and read about it. It is still possible for them to request the laptop back and send you a special package which is secure for transportation of such items.

DNA suits most items including this one.

I'd have to agree with the post above me, DNA seems like the safer option, although that doesn't mean I couldn't see the leaking battery method working,

I also thought abt ordering the same laptop on target instead on Amazon and then using the ftid method to refund it. I have read that as soon as they see that the label is scanned for the first time they process refund.

If you are talking about PP then it is upon confirmation of delivery that they issue the refund as far as I know.
