I assume you had a bridged (or NAT) connection between the Guest & Host, hence external resources were accessible via the VM.

What Issues did you experience, connectivity-wise and/or other?

When I run the virus from the VM, the control panel doesn't show any new connections. Whereas if I run it from the host, it works perfectly.

Is the VM In Its raw state? That Is, a fresh format with only the bare essentials Installed?

Yes - even with microsoft Real-time protection turned off.

I find it difficult to screenshot that, as it's more a lack of something.
