Is the IP address, specifically applied for non-routable purposes to prevent activation checks?

i don't even know why it needs it, probably to create an hardware id

It's a non-routable IP (similar to a localhost) that relates to IPv4 addresses on the local machine.

Along with 127.0.0.1, I've used that IP In my Hosts file to prevent a given software's activation servers from communicating and deactivating the license. I'd say this serves a similar purpose.

if im correct, this software can't be licensed without a server connection normally
