Amazon states this weighs in at 249 grams, 340 grams shipped. I planned on doing a partial, saying the ram is missing. I had other, equally priced electronics in the same shipment. This is not from amazon. Would you recommend cancelling this ?
So the Item (net) weight Is 249 grams, and the shipping (gross) weight Is 340 grams. What's of relevance Is (obviously) the Item weight.
Is that the combined weight for all 4 Ram sticks?
Correct. To clarify, Net weight of the 4 ram sticks combined is 249 grams, Gross weight 340 grams, according to amazon. I ordered this from a large PC part retailer in the UK. In the same order I also purchased a slightly more expensive GPU and a 30$ fan. This retailer seems to be fairly careless, as my drone "experiment" worked with them (if its of any relevance). I am sure you know what I mean. Not going to lie I was a little careless, I forgot to check the item weight. In your opinion, would it be best to cancel this and DNA it, or pull through?
I suppose i could always try pull through, worst case I say I missed the ram as it was stuck underneath the packaging somehow if they decide not to refund me, and afterwards ill just send it back. However not ideal as I am wasting time.
You're perfectly clear with what's written. There's a couple of ways to do this.
(1). Each stick will weigh 62 grams (round figures), so you could simply say that one or two sticks were missing, which Is a lot safer for the missing Item method.
(2). This Is fairly risky. 250 grams will definitely register a weight on consignment, but that's not to say that they'll cross-check the details with the carrier. As such, the missing Item method can work In your favor. Though If an Investigation Is opened, the SE Is almost guaranteed to fail.
When I post my comments pertaining to any method, they're based on exhausting all avenues and leaving nothing to chance. Some users have succeeded with a partial on an Item weighing 400 grams- namely due to the company simply approving the claim, and Ignoring their protocol. This however, will not succeed each and every time and I certainly don't operate on "probabilities", but rather "certainties".
