As mentioned, they do not check their Inventory on every return.

If you've purchased the wrong Item from them with a completely different account, they'll scan It on return, see that It's "their" stock Item  (assuming that's what they've sent you) and place It back In stock.

so does that mean I can order the "second item" from a different account to the same address and return it without being linked????   Should I use a different address when I order the "second/ return" item?

Given It's a different account altogether, they may not check the address but to be on the safe side, use a different one- friends, work etc. Leave nothing to chance.

Does the second item have to be shipped and sold by amazon? Can I get sold by "SELLER" and fulfilled by amazon
