I was thinking of saying something along the lines of the laptop was damaged when it arrived and was leaking chemicals, because its from germany, i would think its a plausible excuse and with it being a different country could be harder for them to investigate. What do you guys think?
I could potentially opt for "wrong item received" and find a similar item they stock and send that back upon request but i would suppose on a £3k laptop they would most likely check cameras at packing and stuff so im unsure. Would you use a drop address for something like this or would you stick to legit details with it being a high value order will be harder and they would probably put more effort into investigating.
Any help would be appreciated thank you.
Social Engineering a £3000 laptop, especially from a smaller store is going to be a real challenge. They will fight tooth and nail to prove you wrong and could come after you if they take precautions to prevent this.
It might be slower, but SE'ing several cheaper items and selling them on eBay - then buying the laptop legitimately would be the safer option.
