If you send the package and the wrong item is in there, they may assume it was stolen.  A "theft" has occurred and a police report should be filed.  I don't even think they check returns tbh (in my experience), but if they were to do so with an item of that price, I'm sure it wouldn't be that easy

You mean, they will open the sealed iphone box, with exact same weight? Just to check if I haven’t by any chance swiched the phone with something else and then resealed the box again? This will be very bad luck for me, haha

I understood he thought you meant opening and resealing the amazon box with a different item of the same weight. If you were to open the shrink wrapped iphone box then re wrap it that would work if done properly but remember they probably have a bunch of them next to eachother and handle them every day so it has to be well done.
