Hey, i did pretty much the same as you did but evga cross shipping option asks me for collateral payment.
Here is what it says for me.

EVGA also offers a cross-shipping service. The Advanced RMA does require you to place a collateral payment covering the full cost of your replacement through PayPal. The cost of the collateral is determined by EVGA EU. Once the collateral payment is received, EVGA EU will ship your replacement product to you first. Once you receive the product, you can then send the original product back to EVGA EU.

Once your RMA is closed successfully, your collateral will be refunded in full.

how did you deal with this or did they not ask for it?
