I feel as if costco won't refund/ repalce me because there has been a signature at the given location or will they still go forward with an investigation then replacement?
@"GosuSang" has nailed It with his response.
One way of working around the signature on receipt of goods, Is to make sure It's signed (fake signature) at the "external" of the property- namely as close to the sidewalk as possible. You can then claim you weren't the person who signed It, but more so some passerby who accepted delivery. This Is on the grounds they do not request Identification.
The method of getting to sign outside of property is quite interesting.
If the mailman recognizes you - the owner of the house- as the person who signed for it, then the plan is ruined.
This is of course under the assumption that the mailman doesn't forget your face.
That's why another person (friend or otherwise) signs for the package, hence solidifies a passerby accepting delivery.
Also, the mailman's memory would have to be pretty good to remember when the package was signed, and by whom.
You've made a good point though.
