I once got a rep who asked for a picture and whatever, I photoshopped the picture. Turns out the fitbit was out of warranty, worked my way across it so the rep gave me an replacement while it was out of warranty. Never had to return anything.

Yeah, it depends how long ago it was. They do give exceptions if you're out of warranty sometimes.
