CPU: I could make an excuse that one of the pins was bent or that the wrong cpu was in the box. The problem is I'm not sure how often the pin gets bent in the box, or if Amazon would know if I got sent the wrong one. They would probably make me send the CPU back either way, and I need to figure out how to get around that.
"Pins do not get bent in the box. And knowing the type of person that does uneducated retail theft, it's likely an Intel processor you're stealing. Intel CPUs use LGA (Land Grid Array) silicon, meaning there aren't any pins on the CPU. You'd have better luck using a freezer to crack the solder on the die cap, then having Amazon exchange your CPU and give you a 50% discount. Easy way to get half off."
Err it's not that deep. The customer service people at amazon are regular folks not computer engineers, they have no clue if the pins can be bent or not. Either way he will get his refund with that excuse.
