I've just viewed your specs and you're right, the VM will struggle on the Host OS.
Another option would be to dual-boot and run the Windows OS on the physical machine. You can customize the OS by removing unwanted components (vLite does the job well) leaving only the bare necessities, thereby It'll be light on system resources.
At least i found an Linux Fixed Version of Sentry which seems to works, tested it with an Proxyless Netflix Config and it worked. Hopefully the Proxy Support also works with Wine, next step is trying to get some Proxy's and an actual Config for something..
