For example, Amazon threaten to put a legal case up against you and have a police deputy come to an address you give them the next day. I was interested by this, so I attempted to SE Amazon and make it blatant that I was trying to get a free item, they said the same exact thing. They asked for my address and phone number, so, I gave it to them. The next day, nobody arrived, same with the following days.
It honestly depends on the company you SE, most companies are forced to follow by user rules, so you basically have more authority due to you being the customer, so, they don't fight it as hard as other companies. Other companies really hate losing money, so, they would most likely question you and possibly take legal action against you. As I said in my previous post, attempt this method with caution, you could be looking at maybe some time in jail, or, at least be charged a fee.
Never heard of a case where someone was jailed for Amazon SEing before. But carriers do pay visits and ask questions about orders sometimes, depending on the price of the order and the used method.
They threaten to open a case against you, some people most likely have been jailed due to frequent attempts and frequent replacements and refunds, but, I doubt Amazon would open a case or go take legal action against a nobody, unless they SE at least $10,000; the item I blatantly attempted to SE for a test was worth $400, they didn't do anything.
I recently SE'd a +1k item on Amazon, no threats whatsoever, but you certainly know what you're talking about.
