And why seperate CSS and CSS3?? There are not enough fundamental differences between the two to warrant it. Thats like suggesting someone learn HTML 4.1 before HTML5. No. Thats just stupid.
Ruby is useful as a base language for learning the fundamentals, not so much for actual development. And as I stated, if you get further into webdev, you have rails as an option.
CSS is separated from CSS3 because most people don't need to push the limits and actually use what CSS3 has to offer.
It's often the outcasts, the iconoclasts ... those who have the least to lose because they
don't have much in the first place, who feel the new currents and ride them the farthest.
