Why don't you make a guide on how humor can be used for human exploitation?

I can't give a full guide on this, but I can say magicians use humor to mask tricky sleights, I know I have. Laughing brings you into a comfort zone that lets your mind gloss over things. A good example (along with packaging) is data retrieval. Most people know NEVER ask for what you REALLY want at the beginning of an SE or at the end of an SE it should be near the middle. But packaging with a laugh makes it near invisible.

Example time!
- Hello this is front desk, philip speaking.
- Hey philip this is ted livens I'm supposed to meet my wife at your hotel in 30 minutes from [random place] could you help me with directions?
- Oh of course Mr. livens you are going to want to go [directions]
- Ah left on broadway street. You're a real life saver philip my wife would have KILLED me if I was late, but then again it would probably save me money. [cheap laugh here]
- ah-ha, yes mr. livens anything else I can help you with?
- yeah actually now that you mention it my wife never told me our room number could you do me a favor and look that up for me?
- Oh of course Mr. livens. Room 302
- Philip you are just a damn super hero today
- [mutual laugh]
- One more thing, real sorry to bother you but could you set a wake up call for 11am tomorrow.
- Of course, anything else?
- Nope, thank you again philip you are a life saver!


So we got the room number and hotel clerk would most likely only remember a pleasant conversation with a guest who needed directions and a wake up call. We also left them with a task that would involve them clearing the screen of room look ups (to create the wake up call). Humor is a good tool.
