1. Do you have the ebook of Ghost in the wires? I'm looking for it since I don't know when.
2. Howard - The Big Bang Theory - explained his possess of a NASA robotic arm or something in the way with a "the trick is to act as if it's yours.". When I have to get home, or maybe a friend's house or, whatever (unless it is a bank), people usually say "You have to get in?" and holds the door for you, supposing you have the rights. Right inside there was a notice as well: "cause to recent thefts, please, always close the door". I quite distinctly remember the SE scenes from Hackers, but far better, from Takedown (Hackers 2).
Dude: hey, you, computer guys never come this late.
Kevin: is it late? I usually come when Joe's here, then it is late.
Dude: do you have a badge?
Kevin: yeah, sure... oh, I forgot it in the car, I'll just...
Dude: no, it's fine, you'll bring it the next time.
People usually trusts you, if you look believeable. Policemen, rent-a-cops, secues, anti-narcos, they'll all let you go easierly if you look relaxed and your story is believeable. I've seen several actions regarding these ones, on the web, on TV, at school, in the street, in parks. Everywhere.
For instance, airport immigration service and drug squads often choose (and declare to have chosen so for this reason) to either let one in or out basing upon their stillness and credibility (contradictions, smoothness and plausability in their stories). Irvine Welsh wrote that for heroin-heads it gets easier to tell lies than the truth, they get that used with it. I sometimes happen to tell lies to make my story more believeable (as it's often not when I tell the truth), or to give a misleading idea about my person. A friend of mine once had the whole town we frequented, all our friends and such believe he was an year older so that the older ones not considering "kids" (he was not a kid, but that's the idea) would take him in the "right places" (long story short).
Just a tip: keep an eye on your lie. If you /tell it big/, you might find yourself in troubles. That's not advisable. You better say half the truth; you should be able to easily justify yourself if people find out about your lie. You'll sometimes really have to lie in some way not justifiable at all, but as long as you can, keep on telling the truth, just omit, or say what you know the other might misunderstand.
Just a few suggestions as this looked the right place.
