Hi, I'm doing a warranty claim and they agreed to send replacement but I need to provide proof of purchase
I'm thinking of making an online purchase with a retailer and change the date on online receipt and use that and then cancel the order. would manufacture check with the retailer to see order is accurate?

This is your best bet. Acquire a real pdf receipt then edit the date and order number. They could cross reference if they cared enough but I've never come across a company that does actually cross reference and make sure the order number is correct.
