I'm curious about some "alternate" higher end retailers, as well - I haven't seen many posts/vouches for retailers outside of the "usual" bunch, such as Saks/Neiman/Bloomingdale's/Nordstrom.
A good place to start, if you haven't already, would be to check their terms of service. I know Net-A-Porter isn't liable for lost/stolen packages - unless something has changed since I last checked - and Frwd is also not liable, and requires a signature for all shipments, which they consider valid proof of delivery regardless of who you claim did or didn't sign it.
I am currently attempting Yoox and Luisa Via Roma, and plan to attempt Ssense and Baltini - possibly Harrod's and Cettire or Italist, as well - in the next week or two.
I'm a bit on the fence about taking the risk of shopping with Baltini, Cettire, Italist, or similar "secondary designer retailers" but figure I can file a chargeback if something goes amiss, such as damaged/inauthentic merch/genuine order not received, and if it works out, it's a great way to order high end/designer items without having to put out as much cash up front.
I believe I've seen a few success posts with Ssense, but know I've seen a couple failures as well. Their TOS seems to indicate they may be liable for lost/stolen packages, so I'm likely going to take the risk there, and will update you in a few weeks if it works out.
Hi, some updates ?
None to give at this time, but will be sure to post here when there is!
I've reached out to both Yoox and Luisa Via Roma, and have begun the SE process. They are currently both "investigating" and it could be up to 10 business days - we'll see how it goes.
I have not ordered from Ssense or Baltini yet, but plan to do order from at least one of them next week - likely Baltini at the very least, as they have a "lost/stolen package insurance" set up that seems easily exploitable for DNA/refunds, whereas I've not heard anything conclusive about Ssense accepting liability in the case of DNA.
Depending on when my Yoox/LVR SE's are completed I may or may not try Italist, Cettire, or Harrod's in the next couple weeks as well, but I'll be sure to update here when I do.
