Has anyone tried this and will this result in a blocked iPhone through the IMEI (phone was purchased directly from Apple).
I recently did a successful refund on a Macbook, they did not block out my IMEI on it. Not too sure about a cellular device though.
MacBooks do not have IMEI’s, but they may have blacklisted that SN from any warranty service. As for cell phones, I’m not too sure. I’d imagine they would blacklist the IMEI, which would mean it would be useable as an iPod touch, but not much else in the States.
