My only concern would be this:
Since the TV still turns on most of the Screen is functional, what are the chances of the company to countercheck the S/N from the back of the screen with the S/N in the TV settings under "info"?!?

A simple solution.

You'd be claiming It arrived damaged, so open the unit and render It non-functional.
