I can't fathom that level of stupidity either. But there is stupidity, then there is policy and SOPs. Sometimes companies have a stupid way of doing things, which can be taken advantage of.

I totally agree, but as a very logical Individual myself, I don't understand how such stupidity Is maintained consistently by the company's employees.

Think it is more luck and wanting to please/believe the customer regardless of how unlikely the situation is.

If It were a few SE's here and there, yes, It's understandable that luck may play a role with Its success.

However, we're talking about an ongoing series of events for months on end - Impossible to be lucky on each and every occasion.

Not all these agents are going to be as reasonable as you are, and sometimes their policies and procedures aren't as carefully considered either. That's exactly why we can sometimes take advantage of this and have successful SEs.

I am going to pursue it anyway. I was surprised it failed so definitely in the first place, the order was under a different name and I used a different payment method. There is still a slight chance I might succeed. I got another email and the case is being escalated. I have nothing to lose.
