Quote:"We have investigated the order in question and concluded that due to previous excessive claims of non-receipt received, we are unable to reship your merchandise.
Additionally, we will no longer be able to process any reshipments to this billing name and shipping address."
Given this is my first SE with Macy's, I'm quite surprised to see this. Order was delivered with UPS. I've claimed 3 DNA with UPS in the past three months on other merchants and all was successful through chat. Latest on was a month ago. Seems like Macy's obtained this information from UPS.
I'm planning on just returning it. But any help/advice is greatly appreciated.
Have you done a refund with Bloomingdale's in the past? I ask because they are "linked" and will link your accounts if they share any information.
It's hard to say why, otherwise, without other information. While it's possible it's related to UPS, again, hard to say without knowing other factors.
From my own experience, Bloomingdale's linked my first ever DNA with them to past Macy's DNA's at the same address - despite no other information/factors being shared. I was denied a refund on the grounds that I had refunded with Macy's in the past.
I opened a BBB complaint, denying that the Macy's refunds belonged to me - essentially I came back with - not verbatim, but off the top of my head this was the just of it: "First of all, I find it very disturbing that you are sharing the order and personal information of a Macy's customer - that I have no relation to, and who I'm assuming is not aware they are being freely shared with strangers - that previously lived at my home address with me in relation to my request for a resolution.
I'm also confused why you seem to think that it's not possible my order never arrived here.
You have just provided me with information confirming that in the past, refunds were issued to a separate customer on the grounds that they never received their orders at this address.
I, now, also have not received my order here.
The trend here appears to be a problem on your end, since numerous customers have complained. I have requested a refund from Macy's/Bloomingdale's in the past, and have not received my order. I hope we can resolve this now, because I fully intend to escalate until we reach a satisfactory conclusion."
I received a response via the BBB portal within 48 hours, and was issued a refund.
I don't know that this will be relevant to you or help you in this case, but if it's something you would prefer not to return, perhaps keep pushing - if nothing else, you might find out a bit more information about what they're basing this decision on and where they're getting that info.
