Lets see what they say. Most likely they'll reply with some fanciful story, but we'll tackle It effectively.
I said to them how do they know if the item was in the box or not? to which they replied "we looked over the footage and the item had it's seals on it."
I explained that what I got after I opened the seals was just and empty box.
They were like "you would need to contact your bank then if you want your money back, because as it stands, nothing can be done."
I tried calling them again after and got basically the same response. Should I just do a charge back with my bank?

They told me an investigation will take place for 2 days and then I can get a replacement or refund.
They got back to me today and told me that the investigation didn't find anything and now I should contact my bank to dispute it. Also something about how they can't check if the item is in the box or not. To which I pointed out the obvious, if they don't know, then how can they sell it to me and say it was there or not. The rep said that they are not disputing if the item was there or not, they don't know and therefore I should contact my bank so a proper investigation can take place.
This all took place over the phone. I have an aged account with 1 large purchase of £980
Any help on how I should procced?
You're gonna have to contact the bank, unfortunately. I just got a refund from John lewis for over 500. I did evri LIT. if you or anyone need lit done, I can. £20 per label.
